Clare's Cherry and Rosemary Vodka

Get set for summer by making this great fruity vodka.

Easy to make, and then worth the wait!

Ingredients

400g - Fresh Cherries

200g - Caster Sugar

150ml - Water

70cl - Vodka

A couple of sprigs of Rosemary – tied with string

Method

Take the cherries and de-stalk them, then gently score them with a sharp

knife – watch your fingers! No need to remove the stones.

Into a pan add the scored cherries, 150ml water and 200g caster

sugar –

Cook on a medium heat stirring occasionally until all the

sugar has dissolved and the water has a pinkish colour to it.

Leave to cool and gently spoon the mixture into a large jar.

Add the sprigs of tied rosemary and top off with a 70cl bottle of

vodka. Put the lid on tight and leave in a cool dark place for 4-5

weeks.

Sit back and wait for the magic to happen – crack open and enjoy on a summer’s day with lemonade as a mixer – or neat with crushed ice for an alcoholic slush – Yum!

Enjoy – Clare x
