During our Special week of Daily Vlogs one day/evening I made pizzas for myself and Nick.
This is the recipe I use for pizza bases – it makes around 6 pizzas.
Into a large bowl add the following ingredients:
All-purpose flour – 1kg
Olive oil – 9 table spoons
Granulated Sugar – 6 tea spoons
A couple of large pinches of salt
Dried yeast for bread – 4 small packets
Warm water 600ml (this will activate the yeast)
*Make sure it is just warm water and not too hot!
Get your hands in the bowl and combine the mixture giving it a good knead at the same time.
I like to use gloves as then I find you do not spend ages washing your hands.
Once the ingredients are all mixed and the dough is formed – keep the mixture in the bowl and cover with clingfilm and leave in a warm place to rise for a couple of hours or more. You will see it double in size at least.
Once the dough is ready you can knead and stretch or roll it out onto a floured surface – and make your pizza bases. Any leftover can be kept in the fridge overnight and used the next day.
Add whatever toppings you want to, then cook in an oven for 8-10 minutes at 200 centigrade.
The dough is also good not just for pizzas but calzone, garlic bread or filled pizza rolls.
Enjoy! – Clare x
